- Over 30 years experience in both the private and public sectors in all aspects of urban planning and real estate development. Design and development of master planned communities, single family residential, multi-family high density infill development including podium buildings, townhomes, condominiums, industrial parks and mid-rise office R&D buildings. Over 8 years of experience working in executive management as a vice president for both public and private developers and homebuilders and was the founder Principal and CEO of a real estate development company.
Public experience includes serving as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Dublin and working as an Urban Planner for the cities of Fontana and San Carlos, California. Have also worked for the civil engineering firms of George Nolte and MacKay & Somps. Entitlement experience includes extensive work with CEQA, the Subdivision Map Act, State Planning Law, resource agency permitting, and annexations. Extensive experience in the formation of public financing mechanisms such as Marks Roos, Mello Roos and conventional assessment districts.
Acquired over 5,000 lots/units in Northern California, and have worked on entitling over 25,000 units in various communities. Obtained entitlements and approvals for over 1,200 acres of office/industrial/business parks, and in excess of 3,000,000 square feet on office R&D buildings in both California and Florida, including two Class A mid-rise office buildings in Santa Clara County.
Served on the Education Council for the Home Builders Association and is a past member of the American Planning Association.
